The role of the pastor is not first to preach and teach, but to live the character of the Heavenly Father, based on John 5 vs 19, amongst his spiritual children.
The reason we have so many irresponsible leaders is because they hold a job to teach and to preach. But if they first model a fathering character amongst their people, it will develop more healthy local churches, marriages and relationships.
Our ultimate goal is to build the image of Christ we have become in the people. The lowest form of leadership is the teaching and preaching. The highest form is the living and showing, backed up by preaching and teaching.
